Hey guys,
The school year is almost over. It's almost time to say goodbye to your classmates, the teachers who taught you, and even your locker! You spent like, 10 months with the same people, so I wanted to write a post about those certain people, also known as your classmates!
Like I've said before, you spend most of the year with the same people. I spent ten months together with like, 30 other students. At my school, the people in our homeroom are the same students in our core classes. We were all so different, and we all had different ideas and personalities, so our homeroom was really "all over the place". But whose homeroom isn't, right?
I think it's been mentioned once or twice on this blog, but I can be clingy to things...=*). After ten months of being with 30 people almost every day, there's a big chance I'll grow on them, and I did. It happens every year, so it's normal for me. But I always get that bittersweet feeling when the school year is over, one of the reasons why is because I won't get the same students in my homeroom the next year.
During the school year, I can get tired of my classmates. You know, because of how different we all are. There's always like, the loud people in your class, the people who always talk while the teacher is talking, the people you're partners with in a group project that don't lift a finger to help you, I can go on and on about it. Most of the time, I think Alright, I'm ready for a new homeroom. Next!! But then I look around at my classmates, and I remember what they did to make my school year exciting and unique. I think, wow, I'll miss them when the school year is over. I'll see them again when school starts again, but I won't talk to them as much, like how I don't talk to my old classmates, apart from my actual friends who aren't in the same class as me this year. And that's why I grow on them...
Your classmates are like your family. I'm exaggerating, but basically you spend every minute of every day with them. Isn't that crazy? Everyone in your homeroom is like, a brother or sister. You can laugh at each other, talk to each other about anything you want, you can help each other out with homework or something. You're all in this together. I know my homeroom and I are all in this together when we have a strict and spontaneous teacher!
Sometimes I feel relieved when I see one of my classmates in like, an option class and I'm not familiar with everyone in the room. I recognize a person from my homeroom and I sit next to them. And when we need to be partners for an activity, I'll be with the person in the same class as me. It's like when you're at a party, you'll just stick around with the person you know. Is that just me? Don't tell me I'm the only one who thinks that!
So, if you are getting tired of your classmates, well. I challenge you to be the best "sibling" you can be to your classmates until the end of the school year!! It will make you appreciate your classmates a little bit more. As I've said so many times before, when you're put into a group, you'll never be in a group like that, so you might as well make the best of it! I am challenging myself as well, because sometimes I do feel like changing homerooms and classmates.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post! And if you challenged yourself to be the best "sibling" you can be to your classmates, that would be really cool because you're making the last moments with your homeroom memorable and fun!

Group Work at School Pt.2
Hey everyone,
I just realized that a few months back, I wrote a similar blog post about group work!! So I guess this is part 2..?
My school was invited (every year) to participate in this project called I Cubed. Basically, students are to invent or innovate something they want, whether it be new and improved headphones, or a new way of conserving energy. At my school, I Cubed was for the students in my grade, so I got to participate in it. And based on the title of this post, I will be talking about the group work I had while working on this very stressful yet very exciting project that is I Cubed.
My group was probably the largest group in the whole grade. My math and science teacher created the groups. In all, we were six people in my group, including me. The average number of people in a group in the whole grade was about 4 people, so we had two more people above the average! I don't know if the background information on the project I Cubed was enough for you to understand, but because we could invent or innovate whatever we want, and my group consisted of 6 people, it was extremely difficult to communicate about all of the ideas we had and cooperate with the choices we had to make.
In my last post about group work, I said that when you work in a group full of different ideas and opinions, it's important to take in every moment you have with them because you'll never be in a group quite like that one again. In this post, I want to emphasize that whenever you work in a group, it's best to really be a part of it, and to put 100% into your work.
My teacher told us near the end of the project this: "This project isn't really about inventing, isn't it? It's mostly about working in a group.". She also said this at the beginning of the project: "Lead, follow, or get out of the way.", meaning lead the group, follow the person in charge, or don't do anything to sabotage the project. She was really right. You can either make or break the project. You can either get a step ahead for your group, or be a step behind. If you are really committed to your team, you would put 100% of your heart and sweat into the project. It's always better to knock every obstacle in the way during your project than to let someone else do it for you, because in the end it'll be worth it. That's what I learned.
At the end of I Cubed, our final product was incredible, and it was worth all the sweat and stress and hair-pulling anger! I realized that if you didn't really do anything during the whole process, you wouldn't be as relieved and proud of yourself. Wouldn't you want the satisfaction of saying that you put everything, your heart, sweat, maybe even tears, into something you care about?
Now that the project is over, the memory of it is bittersweet. I won't be talking to some of my group mates as much anymore because we aren't in the same circle of friends, I won't feel the rush when I'm running around the school (or maybe I'll have another chance to, because next year we have another neck-breaking project) to finish building our project, or to finish the tri-fold in just three days. But, at the same time, it was a really cool experience. It was a one kind of project you can't really re-live again. Plus, I got to create something very innovative! And again, you should really take in the experience when working with other people because you'll never get the same one again.
I'll stop writing now before it gets too long (or maybe it already is). Thank you all for reading!

Study, Strive, Skilled #2
Hello everyone!!
I'm positively certain that many of you guys out there are losing your motivation to work hard at school because it's spring, and it's almost the end of school since the weather is getting a whole lot warmer! It's normal to start getting lazier in your school work when there's only a few months left until school's out, even I lose motivation here and there. But there are FIIINALS on the waaay. So, I decided to make another Study, Strive, Skilled blog post for you guys so that you get your goals back on and ace as many assignments and tests as you can, because you can! I won't (at least I won't try to) mention the same tips as I did before in the first Study, Strive, Skilled post, so here are new ones.
So, I know I didn't mention this in my other Triple S post (cool name, eh?), and it's the way you write your notes and review them. During class what I've been doing so far and it's helped me a lot, is to leave a space at the top of the page you're writing on, write down your notes and then when you're back to review what you've written, try to sum up your notes into a question... if that makes any sense, haha! But actually, your notes are the answer, you just have to write down the question that connects the two together.
Haha, I remember this activity my class did last year to help each other out when it was time for finals! It was for our social studies class, and to remember vocabulary words, we learned our vocab words through the wonderful games of HEADBANDZ and HEADS UP!! It was seriously so much fun! So all you need are like, flashcards and pen/marker to see the words clearly, and of course you need your classmates and friends! Write down all the vocab words you need to learn and then mix them all up in one big pile. Pick a card (any card =) ) from the pile without looking at it and just hold it up against your forehead so you don't see what word you got. The next thing you need to do is to play Head Bandz or Heads Up, and not only will you memorize your vocabulary for your test, but you will also
have FUN doing it!! I swear I will do this with my friends every year when it's time for finals because it actually really works!
Okay, so I know one or two of my friends literally always brings a book everywhere they go. Even if it's for a school pep rally, one of them will bring a book to read as we wait for the assembly to start! So I was thinking, instead of a book, why not bring your notes? I mean, not during school assemblies or something like that, but just bring your notes with you wherever you go so that when you have free time, you can pop them out and read them! For example, when you have after school activities and your parents are driving you to your destination, bring your notes to review and read them in the car (just make sure not to get car sick likes I always do!).
These were a few ways to get you to keep going on your studies until the end of the school year! Hopefully this will help you, and I hope you work hard! Don't forget, work hard, play hard =). Until next time everyone!

M-L

M-L's March Favourites of 2015
Hey guys,
I apologize for not writing last week, I haven't had the time to write a post!!
Phew! It's been a while since I've showed you my favourties of the month, so I figured, it's the end of March, so why not share with you all what I liked! I've been really "feeling" these favourites this month.
I've been really enjoying the Bath and Body Works aromatherapy 3 wick candle in lavender and vanilla! The name aromatherapy says it all, I think! Lavender and vanilla together is really calming. It smells sweet for me, with a hint of lavender. I like to take a deep breath and smell the candle, and it makes me feel good!
On the same topic of scents, I've been using the febreeze sleep serenity bedroom mist in warm milk and honey. It smells so sweet!! Although spraying too much is a bit too overwhelming for me, in all, I spray it on my bed before I go to bed. So not only do I have a lavender and vanilla scent goin' on, I also have warm milk and honey going on as well! Perfect combinations for stress relief! If you are one of those people who can't stand different strong scents, I don't recommend you doing this, because there are a whole lot of scents floating around in the room.
I recently finished the book To Kill a Mockingbird and it was a really good book! I admit, at first I actually didn't want to read the book, mostly because there were times when I couldn't understand what was happening in the story, but then eventually I got really into the book! It's a classic, so if you haven't read it yet, you should!! I think I'll do a book review on this, so stay tuned..!
My next favourite is this clock. But hold on, this isn't JUST a clock. This is an clock that changes colour! I know, it doesn't show in the picture, but when you push down on the clock, it will start changing colours! It's really cool!! The colour changing won't last too long, so you don't have to worry on turning it off. I don't know where you can get this clock because I got this as a prize. It's called the MoodiCare clock if you're wondering. The clock shows the time, the date, it has at least 4 different tunes that you can choose for your alarm, and it has the temperature on there! It's awesome!
This is a Coleto Pen! You can get this online. I really like this pen because you get to choose your own colour ink, and you can choose to put in lead in there!! So in my pen, I chose to have black ink, blue ink, purple ink, and lead so my pen is also a mechanical pencil!
There are a variety of colour pens you can choose. The one I got is ivory. There is also black, blue, lilac, bright yellow and pink, and more! Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention: you can choose how think you want your ink and lead. My pens are 0.3 mm, and my lead is 0.7 mm.
So these have been a few of my favourites for this month! I hope you enjoyed reading it! You can comment what your favourite was for March!!
