A Few Christmas Gifts to Show 2014

Merry Christmas everyone! So I've been kind of into watching "What I Got for Christmas" videos on YouTube and I thought that I kind of want to try it out! Also because I didn't really plan anything for this week's post... And so that is why I want to share with you what I received for Christmas. A reminder, I'm not doing this to show off. I'm doing this to have a variety of posts for this blog, and because this is a last minute blog idea... So let's begin! OH! And, these aren't ALL the gifts I got. I just pulled out the beauty/fashion gifts so this would be a type of beauty/fashion post! =)

The first thing I want to share is the Body Shop's Shea Body Whip. It smells reeally good. So the consistency is pretty...hmm, I'd say it's actually less thick than I thought. In comparison, it's less thick then the mango body butter. I think it's because the lotion is actually a body whip and not a body butter. Buuuut, there's a little problem. I have a feeling that I might get tired of the scent... It smells good, but especially if you're having a bad day, or a headache, the scent will be too overwhelming. It's really "perfume-y" so that's why. I don't think I'll be using EVERYDAY but once in a while. It's got this like, warm scent to it. It's actually really warm and not a light scent. I think it's perfect for the colder months.

Next thing! We're still on the Shea bandwagon here! So this is the Shea Shower Cream. Now, I've heard of shower gels, body washes, but I've never heard of shower creams? It looks really thick for a body wash. I got a loofah with it too. It smells just like a regular Shea scent from the Body Shop. But I'm still rather confused on the whole shower cream. Like, why is it a shower cream, and what makes it a shower cream? Anyways, I haven't tried it yet but I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes, and hopefully report back to you on my findings!

OH MY GOSH. THIS. THIIIIIIS. Sorry, let me pull it together... Okay. So THIS is the Body Shop's Strawberry Body Puree. Why is it a puree? Do not ask me. I don't understand the Body Shop or any body lotion lingo... But thiiiiiiis... My god... the scent!!! Holy cow! I've smelt the Body Shop's Strawberry Body Butter but it does not smell like the body puree! Wow! I smelled the first time, and I couldn't get my nose out of it, honestly... The thing that came to mind in my head was that it smelled like strawberry jam. But then I was like, "no, it smells like something else..." and it does. It smells like HUBBA BUBBA gum! Like you know the strawberry flavour?! Yeah! And it smells soooo good! As for consistency, the puree itself is more thick, but then once you put it on your body, it's like, suddenly more liquid... It's rather hard to explain honestly but I like the consistency of the puree. Again, do not understand why it's called a puree. Does anybody mind explaining the whole lingo to me?

This is the Bath and Body Work's French Lavender and Honey lotion. I like Bath and Body Works, but I feel like they have so many scents and sometimes it's so overwhelming for me that I don't know which scents I like or don't like, or which scent is my favourite! But this one though. One of my faves, and possibly my favourite Bath and Body Works scent so far! It smells sweet, and girly, but it's not a light scent. It is kind of, but I think it's more on the warmer side than light and refreshing. And for consistency, it's actually thicker than I thought. I think even thicker than the Body Whip and Body Puree. I also adore the design!! It's so cute and girly. People who know me will be surprised that I say this because I don't really look like the type to be interested in this kind of stuff, but this is an exception. I mean look at the design! It doesn't really match my room though but oh well... who cares =)

Now for the fashion presents that I received. I got this infinity scarf! And uh, actually, this is the first infinity scarf that I have ever owned... :') AND I LOVE IT! It's so cuuuute! But most importantly, it's super warm too! WIN WIN RIGHT, GUYS?!! I cannot wait to start wearing this outside and show off my new, very own, infinity scarf! I just... sigh. I'm in love. I'll take super care of it!

This super cute beanie is now part of my wardrobe essentials! So I used to wear this black North Face yarn beanie but because it's kind of too small now for my head, I wanted a new one. And I have this adorable beanie now! I will miss my North Face hat though because I've had it for so long... :( It has sentimental value. But don't get me wrong, I also love this hat. So I'm probably planning on wearing both hats...

And oh. Last but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST! AHHHH! I got this super warm but cute winter jacket! Seriously, it is heeeeella warm. No joke. I wore this for ten minutes inside my house (because I was so obsessed with it) and my house is actually pretty cold, and I was already starting to sweat! You can also detach the fur on the hood if you want. Sorry for the lighting, the colour of the coat is like a, dark dark grey, almost black but not completely. But yeah! Absolutely in love with this jacket! And, I always had the hand-me-down jackets, so the jacket I was wearing before I got this one was this very bright, very yellow North Face ski jacket that I wasn't too fond of. For warmth, yes, absolutely but for design, NOOOO.

(Hey, I just realized that I've been going all North Face... My jacket, my hat... EVEN MY BACKPACK IS FROM THE NORTH FACE. ._. wha....)

And these were some of the presents I got for Christmas that are from the beauty/fashion area. Again, this is not to brag. In fact, this might come off as a review for some of you folks out there. Example, maybe you were planning on getting the Body Shop's Shea Body Whip for someone but you didn't because you don't know if it's good or not. I kind of added a mini short review about the products I mentioned!

I hope you enjoyed this post! AND GASP!!!! NEXT TIME I WRITE TO YOU, IT WILL BE IN THE NEW YEAR. HOOOOOOLY COOOOOOW! 2015 GUYS. Are you ready for it? It's comin' faster than we think so get on with those New Year Resolutions guys! I'll see you in the New Year y'all!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014!!

It's the most wonderful time of the yeeeear!! Yup, I'm talkin' about Christmas and the New Year's here, guys! DUH. By now everyone and every STORE is talking about the holidays. They have a whooole bunch of sales, festive products, it's all so overwhelming! Oh and let me tell you something. The malls now, they are like a war zone! It's so packed, and everyone is trying to get their Christmas shopping done before the products run out! I went holiday shopping not too long ago, and it was pretty crowded at the mall I went to (don't worry, I made it out alive and I bought most of the stuff I needed for my friends and family!). But you might be wondering What the heck should I give this person? Or that person?! Don't worry, I got your back! This week's post will be a holiday gift guide for your friends, family, that special someone?

For the tech people in your life, I suggest giving them games! For their DS, or XBOX, or PlayStation or whatever! If that person is very important in your life, then why not the actual game console!? You can also give them funky headphones or maybe even snazzy phone cases.

People who are interested in beauty... the list can go ooooon! There's a whole variety of make up, nail polishes and whatnot. Pay attention to what they wear and buy them a similar colour, or if you're very discreet, just ask them what kind of colour they're looking for. You can buy them lotions, body washes an body scrubs. You can also give them face masks! But I don't really suggest you giving them skin care items... Better yet, you can create their very own "Pampering Kit"! Buy everything and put it in a basket so that they can have their own spa day in the comfort of their own home. Especially because everyone works hard, either at work or school, so they will love that as a gift.

For people who are into visual stuff, you can give them movie tickets! Or even those tickets with the combos or something like that. You can give them tickets to a live show, because that would be really cool to go to. If they're into photography, buy them a good quality camera. Or you can buy them lenses. I think those would be cool gifts to give.

If the person you want to give a gift to is interested in any kind of sport, then you can buy them tickets to see a game. Maybe you can buy any merchandise signed by their favorite athlete (if you can find it). Even better yet, if they would want to learn how to play the sport, then enroll them to a few classes so that they get to learn how to play the sport! I've said this before in my other blog, for people who are interested in martial arts: you should get them targets, or belt holders. I know when I got my belt holder I was super excited. I now have hung onto my wall!

Now in general, gift cards are simple but if you're in a rush to buy a gift they won't disappoint anyone. You can make a "Cookie mix in a jar". I've seen this on YouTube and I think it's actually a cute concept. Put all of the dry ingredients in a jar (mason jar if you want, because duh) and write down the recipe so that they can make the cookies again. You can also make their very own hot chocolate basket. Put a box of hot chocolate powder in a basket along with a bag of marshmallows, and a mug! Boom. A hot chocolate basket! Even better if you add a book and a candle for them to read, so that they can cozy up and have a warm, relaxing night in reading a book!

There we have it folks! A couple ideas to get your mind whirring on what to get the special people in life for the holidays. I hope this post brought you ideas. Also, I wish you A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! BYEEEEE! <3

I'm Late for School!

          Heeey guys!

How are you all?

One of the negative things of school is having to wake up early in the morning and get ready for school in a certain amount of time, depending on what time you wake up at and the time your school starts at. Buuut sometimes we just love the warmth our bed gives us when you wake up so you start thinking Oh, I still have time. I'll sleep for ten more minutes. Then you start hitting your snooze button on your alarm and then... you're late for your classes.

That is why I will tell you what to do when you are running late for school! And do not worry guys, you are reading the words of a professional here, an expert. Proof? I maaay have been late every now and then for school. Or almost all five days in the week... Don't look at me like that! We've all been there! ;) It's even worse when you don't put on the snooze option so instead of sleeping in for ten more minutes, you're sleeping for thirty, forty, FIFTY more!
I have an odd case of never putting on my snooze option because I always think that I'll be able to wake up in the morning with that ONE alarm.  I'm just too stubborn when it comes to that! But because of that I am now a "certified" professional! ;)
So, for this post, I will share with you the things I do so that I'm not late for school because unfortunately, sleeping in is not an excuse when you tell your teacher... =\ I wish it was... don't you?

Before we go into the morning, here are some things you can do the night before so it saves you more time.
  • Pack your bags with everything you'll need the next day. You'll be sure to have everything in the morning and you won't have to stress out about forgetting something.
  • Take a shower at night. You won't have to stress about showering in the morning. I take martial art classes on Mondays and Thursdays and I go to the adult's classes. The kids' classes ends at 7:45 so then it's our turn. The adult classes end past 9 pm so after I get home I'll hop in the shower (with my muscles sore most of the time but refreshing when warm water hits my skin!). Then I wash my face and brush my teeth and then blow dry my hair. By the time I slide into my covers, it's already 10:30 pm. That is one of the reasons why I want to sleep in... But anyway, that's why I have the tendency to shower at night
  • If you want to pack your own lunch, make it the night before and stick it if the fridge. Before you head out the door you can just open your fridge and toss your lunch in your bag. Or if you want, just put some money in your bag and buy your lunch at school. Whichever floats your boat.

Now into the morning, when you are unexpectedly late! Duh duh duh!

Right when you wake up, go brush your teeth first. Just jump out of bed with your drool and brush
your teeth because you will have 100% morning breath. And even though you may have gum to cover up, it will only last for so long and it's safer to actually freshen your breath with real toothpaste so you're sure it will last all day. If you want, you can wash your face too. I do that because it only takes me like, a minute to do.
I really recommend you putting some sunscreen on. It's important because you don't want skin cancer. Even if it seems cloudy or it's snowing or raining, sun rays can still penetrate through the clouds and will still damage your skin (scary, right?). I walk home from school, and when it's warm and sunny outside, I eat outside with my friends, so it's a must for me to wear sunscreen!

Next is choosing your outfit. I recommend wearing a basic t-shirt and wearing a hoodie with jeans.
Or a loose, over sized sweater with leggings. That's what I usually wear when I'm late. It's still very stylish! For shoes, sneakers are your best choice. I don't recommend laces though, unless your laces are already tied and all you have to do is push your foot in (like me). Uggs are easy to wear and they're fashionable. Another option is zipper boots. You can just zip 'em up and bolt out in style. My number one go-tos are my white tennis shoes, my blue Converse sneakers or my brown comfy boots. And for accessories, they're not necessary, but if you have the time, go with a basic necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings. But if you're really late, don't even bother looking at what you have. Sometimes, if I feel too boring with my outfit, I go with this very elegant, long, bronze necklace that has an analogue clock which used to actually work but because I've had it for so long, it stopped working... It's very pretty and will go with almost anything you wear!

Now for hairstyles! The number one option here is just putting your hair in a ponytail. Your hair might be too flat and oily if you let it down. Although in the morning, if you think it looks okay, then you can wear it down. Another option is putting your hair half up. Just grab half of your hair and clip it at the back of your head. I wear my hair half up and half down for school because it's very simple but stylish. Adding a bow clip makes you look like you spent more time getting ready in the morning! Also, braiding your hair on the side is a cute look. It's simple like a ponytail, but it adds more style. Of course though, you need a can of dry shampoo. It absorbs oil from your scalp. Some of them have scents so that your hair smells really good. And some of them makes your hair voluminous! Buy a can of dry shampoo because it is a staple.

You need to eat breakfast in the morning. If not then at least something to eat. Even if you think you still have time, don't go for pancakes or eggs. Just eat cereal with milk. Or make toast with butter and jam or with peanut butter. If you are waaay too late, just grab a granola bar and bolt and eat your granola bar as you head to school. To make you more awake, drink orange juice. It will boost your energy you need for school. But if you don't have orange juice, water is best.

That reminds me of something funny I remember that I want to share with you guys. Okay, so during the school year last year, I woke up late and before I was about to go get cereal out of my pantry, I remembered that I had my foods (cooking) class first thing in the morning (that isn't an options class, everyone has to take it)! And we were also making breakfast stuff at the time too, like waffles, pancakes, eggs, crepes, etc... so instead I went to school as usual. My foods class started and we made waffles. I ate my waffles as my breakfast! And then I went to my next class!

Anyway, then you can just grab your packed bag and bolt out the door! It'll be as if you never woke up fifteen minutes before school started. =P

Hope this helps some of you out there! Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you later!

M-L's Review on Aloe Vera Drinks

So sorry I didn't write any posts last week guys! I was busy during the time so I didn't have time to write up a post for you! Hope you guys understand.

It's been a while since I've done a review on the blog so here is one for you all!

Alright, so this review is going to be on Aloe Vera Drinks! Yup, it sounds odd doesn't it? But lemme tell you, aloe vera drinks are sooo DELICIOUS and SWEET!

Excuse the one on the far left, I wasn't done drinking it when I took the picture! That one is the original, the middle is the pomegranate, and the one on the right is the green tea.

I've drank normal aloe vera juice before and it's suuuuuper good. But when I went to the Asian supermarket with my mom a few weeks back, I was planning on only getting the usual aloe vera juice until I saw that they sell different flavours! So I bought the original one, a pomegranate flavour, and a green tea flavour! All were delicious, but if I had to choose which one I prefer the most out of the three, it'd be the original one. I wasn't also a big fan of green tea, but I still wanted to try it out. It still tasted like green tea (no duh). As for the pomegranate one, it was good, but I think it tasted too sour in my opinion. So in order of my preferance: 1. Original 2. Green tea 3. Pomegranate
Aloe vera is just like normal juice, except there are bits of actual aloe vera in it. You can chew on them, or just plainly swallow them. I like to do both. If you'd like to try aloe vera juice,  you SHOULD! I actually got one of my friends hooked up on it too... ;)

I hope you guys enjoyed this week's review! It was pretty short, but I promise I'll give you guys a really in-depth review soon. Take care!

Keep Smiling,
M-L
